We would like to bring your attention to the Historic Religious Buildings Alliance, Becky Payne, their Historic Religious Buildings Development Director, writes:

We are an independently funded network within the Heritage Alliance https://www.theheritagealliance.org.uk/ that brings together those who have responsibility for historic places of worship whether that is a churchwarden, a trustee or a denomination or a grants body.

We are all volunteers and are supported by our paid up members and sponsorship of our e-newsletter.

One of the key things we do is offer a FREE monthly e-newsletter http://www.hrballiance.org.uk/e-bulletin/ which aims to bring together information on Conferences, new initiatives, Government consultations, training and new resources. We now have over 1,560 direct subscribers.

Slate landscape of north-west Wales nominated for World Heritage Status  ITV REPORT 23 October 2018 at 10:31am

The slate landscape of north-west Wales could join the likes of the Grand Canyon and The Great Barrier Reef after being nominated for world heritage status.

The area – which runs throughout the county of Gwynedd – is said to have “roofed the 19th century world” as slate from its mines was exported around the globe.

The landscape was assessed by a UK panel of experts this summer and it will be formally presented to UNESCO next year.

It will then be considered by the International Council of Sites and Monuments followed by the World Heritage Committee in 2021.
